The power drops out and comes back
Not a clean outage. Lights dip, the fridge restarts, or half the house dies and returns. Faults like that are usually wiring or a loose connection, and they tend to get worse rather than settle down.
The board will not stay up
Reset it once. If it drops again, leave it down. Something on that circuit is either drawing more than it should or leaking to earth, and both need finding rather than forcing.
It is an old house and the wiring has never been checked
Houses built decades ago were wired for a fraction of what a modern family plugs in. When wiring has never been inspected, an intermittent fault is often the wiring itself and not the appliance.

How bad is it?
Score the problem from 1 to 10. A rating of 7 or higher may jump the queue for the priority fee, and that is your call to make.
A call-out fee of R750 applies to every call. An emergency, rated 7 or higher, is entitled to skip the work queue and be next in line if a fee of R1,500 is agreed to, or else the normal work queue applies. There is no charge for a quote.
